Terms of use

What this website is, what it is not, and the limits of what any web page can promise a family in the middle of a bereavement.

About this site

This website is published by the Malaysian Indian Funeral Association, Persatuan Pengebumian India Malaysia, registration PPM-003-14-06102019.

The guidance here is general

Where this site describes a procedure — registration, permits, repatriation — it describes the process as it generally runs. It is not legal advice, and it is not a substitute for what the authorities handling your particular case tell you.

Procedures change, and they differ between states. Sabah and Sarawak follow their own. If what you read here contradicts what an official has told you, the official is right, and we would like to know so we can correct the page.

Availability

We try to keep this site accurate and available, and we cannot guarantee either absolutely. The telephone number is the reliable channel, and it is the one to use if anything here is unclear or if the site is down.

Arrangements are agreed directly, not through this site

Nothing on this website is an offer capable of acceptance, and no funeral arrangement is made by using it. Services, costs and timings are agreed with MIFA directly for each case.

Third-party content

Where we link to another organisation — a temple, a government department, a mission — we do not control what is on the other end of the link and cannot be responsible for it.

Intellectual property

The text and design of this site belong to MIFA. Photographs are used under Creative Commons Zero or public domain terms and their provenance is recorded in the source repository.

Scriptural passages, Thevaram verses and hymn texts are deliberately not reproduced anywhere on this site. Where those texts are described, we link to a temple or institutional source rather than copying them.
